Israel Prepares ‘Hell Plan’ to Pressure Hamas into Releasing Hostages

Israel is reportedly preparing a “hell plan” to pressure Hamas into releasing more hostages without needing to withdraw its troops from Gaza. The plan, which includes mass expelling Palestinians to southern Gaza, shutting off power and water, and cutting aid supplies, aims to persuade Hamas to release its remaining hostages.

The ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas is hanging in the balance after the six-week first phase ended on Sunday. Israel has reimposed a siege on the Palestinian territory, stopping all critical supplies including food, fuel, medicine, and other essential goods. This move puts a serious risk of resuming the war.

According to sources close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the “hell plan” will come into effect if mediators fail to persuade Hamas to release more prisoners without requiring Israel to withdraw its troops from Gaza. The plan is seen as paving the way for the Netanyahu government to resume fighting in Gaza.

Israel’s defense minister, Israel Katz, has warned that “the gates of hell will open” and that Hamas will face an army with unprecedented forces and methods until a decisive victory is achieved. Maj Gen Eyal Zamir, the new chief of staff, has called for using more force to achieve a quick victory over Hamas.

Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups are reportedly getting ready for resumption of fighting. They are stepping up security measures to implement stricter controls on Israeli hostages. The ceasefire deal reached in January after a year of negotiation is at risk of collapse due to disagreements over prisoner exchanges and withdrawal from Gaza.

The situation remains volatile, with both sides accusing each other of violations. The White House supports whatever action Israel takes, but Hamas has rejected the “Witkoff proposal” to extend the first phase of the ceasefire and reimpose a siege on Gaza.
