Xiaomi has announced its latest flagship phone, the 15 Ultra, which promises an impressive camera setup and top-end tech at a price of £1,299 (approximately $1,630, AU$2,630). The phone will go on sale in the UK and wider Europe this month after MWC 2025, but it won’t be available in the US.
The 15 Ultra boasts a 6.7-inch display that is bright, vibrant, and pin-sharp, making it ideal for everyday use. However, the camera is where the phone truly shines, thanks to its massive 1-inch image sensor, which captures more light and allows for better dynamic range and details. This same sensor was seen in last year’s model, but some may be disappointed that Xiaomi hasn’t pushed the tech further.
To make the most of this impressive camera setup, the phone comes with a Photography Kit, which includes a snazzy case with a camera grip. The grip makes it easier to hold the phone and includes a battery to keep it charged up, as well as a shutter button and other camera controls.
In terms of performance, the 15 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, which scored well in benchmark tests. It runs Android 15 at its core, with Xiaomi promising six years of security support for the phone.
The camera features include a 50-megapixel ultrawide and a 200-megapixel telephoto zoom, as well as various AI-based image editing tools, such as Google Gemini and Circle to Search. The phone is also IP68 rated to keep it safe from spilled drinks.
While the 15 Ultra has its advantages, its price tag may be off-putting for some buyers. However, for serious photography enthusiasts, this phone offers a unique set of features that make it an attractive option.
