North Carolina rolls to a season-high sixth straight win, defeating Virginia Tech 91-59 behind 15 three-pointers.
Tar Heels (20-11, 13-6 ACC) extend win streak to six as they prepare to face No. 2 Duke at home on Saturday. Ven-Allen Lubin collected his first double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, while Ian Jackson hit five of eight from the arc.
Seth Trimble scored 17 points, RJ Davis had 15, and Drake Powell chipped in with 13 as North Carolina made 15 of 28 three-pointers at a 59% clip overall. The Tar Heels outscored Virginia Tech 25-6 over the final seven minutes of the first half to take control.
Jaydon Young and Ben Burnham scored 12 points each for the Hokies (13-17, 8-11), but their efforts were not enough to overcome the strong shooting display from North Carolina.
With this win, North Carolina has won 20 games in a season for the 65th time. The Tar Heels will face No. 2 Duke on Saturday, looking to bounce back from their previous loss.
