Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition graphics card will not be available at launch alongside other 5070 models, according to the company. In an email to The Verge, Nvidia’s global PR director Ben Berraondo confirmed that the Founders Edition version will launch later in March.
For those eager to buy the card, third-party manufacturers such as Asus, MSI, and others will offer RTX 5070 cards at MSRP starting March 5th. These alternatives may provide an option for early adopters who want to get their hands on the new GPU sooner.
Nvidia had previously delayed the RTX 5070 series from its original launch date of February 28th. The company’s initial statement claimed that the card would offer similar performance to the $1,599 RTX 4090, but real-world testing suggests otherwise.
The delay and mixed reviews have added to a rocky launch for Nvidia’s 50-series chips, including manufacturing issues with other models such as RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX 5070 Ti.
