Stock Market Falls to Pre-Election Levels Under Trump

The US stock market has plummeted to levels seen before Donald Trump’s election and inauguration, wiping out billions in investor gains.

Since Election Day, the S&P 500 has dropped 4.3% and the Nasdaq Composite 6%. Key stocks, such as Tesla, have also fallen sharply – Elon Musk’s company is down 44%, while Trump’s own business is down 32%.

This marks a stark contrast to the market’s performance during Trump’s initial presidency, when it rose with his election and inauguration. The stock market’s calm nature has been overlooked in favor of other metrics used by Trump.

The decline may be attributed to Trump’s trade policies, which have imposed severe tariffs on major trading partners, leaving investors feeling uneasy about the future.
