The Righteous Gemstones’ Creator Teases Possible Live Revival Show

HBO’s ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ is coming to a close after four seasons, but its creator and star Danny McBride isn’t ready to say goodbye just yet. In an interview, McBride revealed he had always envisioned a general idea of how the show would end, but things took a different turn during filming.

“I started writing this season with a sense that it was going to be about conclusion and growth,” McBride said at the Los Angeles premiere. “So I followed that, and as we were shooting, it became apparent that we had told the story we were trying to tell.”

The cast, including Adam Devine and Edi Patterson, expressed surprise that season four would be the last, but McBride kept his plans under wraps until the final weeks of filming.

However, in a surprising twist, McBride has revealed he’d love to do a live version of ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ – a traveling tent revival featuring the show’s characters. Edi Patterson echoed this idea, saying she’d “love” to see it happen.

The cast even joked about their future careers, with Adam Devine poking fun at himself and Walton Goggins’ Baby Billy Freeman character. The show’s final season is set to premiere on HBO this Sunday.
