SXSW 2025: Immersive Experiences Take Center Stage

SXSW 2025 is just around the corner, bringing with it a diverse range of immersive experiences that will transport attendees to unique worlds. The festival will feature three black holes, re-creations of the Criterion Mobile Closet, and Alien: Earth close encounters.

The Black Hole Experience, an activation by artist Kevin Nunes and environmentalist Dax Dasilva, promises a weightless sensation with floor-to-ceiling mirrors and an immersive environment that will make visitors ponder their place in the universe. The event can be visited during SXSW Expo’s open days or later at LoLo’s Wine Bar.

Meanwhile, Whataburger fans will rejoice as 200 original fan art pieces are showcased in a pop-up exhibition, featuring hands-on activities like covering a stark white restaurant interior with stickers. Attendees will also receive free food samples.

Alien: Earth invites visitors to explore a Downtown lot transformed into a crash landing site, where they can interact with alien specimens and experience a near-future world dominated by corporations. Paramount+’s The Lodge offers an immersive multi-story experience featuring various immersive activities inspired by popular TV shows.

SXSW badgeholders will have access to exclusive events, including the Alien: Earth experience during limited hours on Saturday and Sunday. For those interested in film enthusiasts, the Criterion Mobile Closet is a must-visit, offering a chance to explore cinema treasures with party favors included.

Attendees can explore these immersive experiences across multiple venues throughout SXSW 2025.
