A four-year-old girl from Ohio, Locklynn Boler, has been left with severe brain damage after her common flu symptoms led to cardiac arrest and caused significant harm to her brain. The little girl tested positive for Influenza A just three days before her condition took a dramatic turn.
According to her father, Brad Boler, Locklynn’s symptoms worsened rapidly over 24 hours, leading to her collapse and subsequent cardiac arrest. Despite the efforts of her mother and aunt, who performed CPR, Locklynn was airlifted to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, where she spent several days in a coma.
The MRI revealed that due to the cardiac arrest, Locklynn suffered massive brain injuries, leaving her with severe damage that will affect her for the rest of her life. The devastating diagnosis has left her parents heartbroken and worried about their daughter’s future.
However, despite the grim outlook, Locklynn is now awake and off the ventilator, bringing hope to her family. Her father expresses a mix of emotions, including anger and sadness, but remains hopeful that his daughter will recover.
The family is collecting donations via a GoFundMe campaign to support their efforts in caring for Locklynn.
