iOS 18.2 Update to Bring Key Features to iPhones

Apple is set to roll out its next major software update, iOS 18.2, in the coming weeks before the holidays. The public beta of the update is available now and promises several key features. To use this update, you’ll need a 2018-released iPhone or later, such as an iPhone XS or iPhone XR.

One significant change will be the ability to switch away from Apple’s default apps for everyday tasks like calling and messaging. This includes options for call filtering, passwords, and keyboards. Previously, users could only change some of Apple’s default apps, but with iOS 18.2, you’ll now have more control over these settings.

To access these new features, simply go to the Settings app on your iPhone running iOS 18.2. You’ll find a new Default Apps menu that allows you to customize your app defaults for various tasks.
