AMD’s RDNA 4-powered graphics card, the RX 9070 and XT models, have launched with a bang, taking the top spot in Amazon’s best-selling list. Despite supply issues with Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 50-series GPUs, AMD’s mid-range cards are proving to be attractive options for consumers.
The MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti remains the top seller on Amazon, but the Asus TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Edition is in second place. The XFX Swift Radeon RX 9070 OC White takes the top spot in Amazon Germany, while the Gigabyte Radeon RX 9070 XT Gaming OC leads the pack in the UK.
However, due to high demand and limited supply, scalpers are selling the RX 9070 series at prices that are significantly higher than the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP). AMD has assured customers that multiple cards from its AIB partners will be sold at MSRP prices, but it appears that some retailers are taking advantage of this by charging premium prices.
The GPU market has been plagued by shortages in recent months, with Intel’s Arc B580 also struggling to find stock. Nvidia recently admitted a shortage of RTX 50-series GPUs, affecting the entire range from the most affordable RTX 5070 to the high-end RTX 5090.
As AMD looks to capitalize on this situation and regain market share, it remains to be seen whether they can produce enough cards to meet demand. The launch of new GPUs has sparked excitement among gamers, who are eager to get their hands on these powerful devices.
In related news, a glimpse has been spotted of Nvidia’s upcoming RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPU, featuring 24,064 CUDA cores and 96GB GDDR7 memory.
