Intel has announced its next-generation desktop graphics cards, the Arc B580 and Arc B570, priced at $249 and $219 respectively. The new GPUs are based on the Xe2 “Battlemage” architecture, which offers better performance per dollar compared to its competitors.
The Arc B580 boasts 12GB of dedicated video memory, up to 190W of power, and outperforms Nvidia’s RTX 4060 in certain games at 1440p and ultra settings. However, the Nvidia card still takes the lead in other titles such as Starfield and Gears 5.
The new GPU features Intel’s XeSS AI upscaling technology, which can enhance frame rates and reduce latency. A limited edition version of the Arc B580 will be available with improved performance and a whisper quiet design.
Intel’s XeSS 2 technology offers significant upgrades to its competitor Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR. The new feature provides frame generation and a low latency mode that can eliminate the penalty of using this technique.
The Arc B580 is set to ship on December 13th, while the Arc B570 will arrive in January. Intel’s competitors have yet to respond with official comparisons or pricing information for these new GPUs.
