Xavier Worthy’s Assault Charge Dropped

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy’s assault charge has been dropped, according to jail records obtained by NFL Media. The charge was filed after Worthy was arrested in Georgetown, Texas, on a criminal charge of assault against a family or household member.

The Williamson County District Attorney’s office declined the case, citing ongoing investigation by the sheriff’s office. The district attorney stated that they will continue to evaluate the case and may present it to a grand jury if new information surfaces.

Worthy’s attorneys claim the complainant made extortionate efforts and damaged property before accusing Worthy of assault. The Chiefs have been aware of the situation and have been gathering information.
