JBL Updates Popular Portable Bluetooth Speakers with New Gen Tech

JBL has finally upgraded its popular portable Bluetooth speakers, the Flip and Charge lines, after years of anticipation. The new updates bring significant improvements in durability, battery life, and sound quality.

The JBL Flip 7 is a smaller, more affordable speaker that boasts an IP68 rating for enhanced protection against dust and water. It offers up to 14 hours of battery life, a slight upgrade over its predecessor. The speaker also features a new tweeter and supports AI Sound Boost technology, which leverages artificial intelligence to optimize sound quality.

The JBL Charge 6 is the larger, more premium option that has been upgraded with improved internals and new features. It boasts an IP68 rating, enhanced bass thanks to its upgraded woofer, and up to 28 hours of battery life. Both speakers also support high-resolution audio over USB-C and Auracast, a next-gen audio-sharing feature.

Both the Flip 7 and Charge 6 are now available for preorder on JBL’s website, with expected shipping starting April 6th. The Flip 7 costs $150, while the Charge 6 is priced at $200.
