Girl Scouts Cookies Contain Heavy Metals and Pesticides

A New York woman has filed a class-action lawsuit against the Girl Scouts and cookie manufacturers alleging that some cookies contain heavy metals and pesticides. According to the complaint, a recent study found that all 24 sampled cookie flavors had at least four of five heavy metals, including lead and arsenic, as well as the pesticide glyphosate. The study was commissioned by GMOScience and Moms Across America in late 2024. Thin Mints were found to contain the highest levels of glyphosate, a toxic substance commonly used in weed killers. The woman claims she would not have purchased the cookies or paid full price if she had known about the toxins.
