UserBenchmark Criticizes AMD GPUs for Real-World Performance

UserBenchmark has launched a scathing attack on AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT series, claiming that they lack real-world performance despite being touted as a welcome addition to the GPU market. However, it appears that UserBenchmark’s review is based on outdated information and exaggerated claims.

In its review, UserBenchmark fails to mention the specific Radeon GPU in question, the RX 9070 XT, even once. Instead, it relies on cherry-picked benchmarks and outdated statistics to make its case against AMD GPUs. The website cites a now-six-year-old RX 5700 XT as evidence of Radeon GPUs’ supposed shortcomings.

UserBenchmark also attempts to deflect criticism by painting the tech media as a large entity with a unified agenda, employing a strawman fallacy in the process. However, this tactic only serves to further muddy the waters and undermine the credibility of its own review.

In reality, benchmarking tests conducted by Tom’s Hardware found that AMD’s RX 9070 XT is actually just 2% faster than Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti at 4K across a geometric mean of 16 games. This finding contradicts UserBenchmark’s claims and suggests that the website’s review may be biased.

Furthermore, UserBenchmark has been accused of monetizing its opinion by directing new buyers to their site for comparison data, potentially misleading them into making uninformed purchasing decisions. The website’s tone and language also suggest a clear agenda against AMD GPUs, which may not be entirely justified by the available data.
