Pope Francis Rests After Receiving Hundreds of Letters at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital

Pope Francis had a restful night at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, where he has been undergoing treatment since February 14th. According to the Holy See Press Office, the Pope received hundreds of letters from schools, associations, and young people on the occasion of his 12-year anniversary as Pope.

The letters were brought to the hospital and met with the Pope, who continues to follow spiritual exercises via video link, receiving the Eucharist, praying, and undergoing physical therapy. His medical situation remains stable with slight improvements, according to a chest X-ray performed on Tuesday that showed radiologically confirmed progress.

Pope Francis has been hospitalized for bronchitis but is no longer considered at risk. He requires additional time in the hospital before being discharged. The Vatican has announced several events, including a Mass presided over by Cardinal Pietro Parolin and a rosary prayer for the Pope’s recovery on Friday evening.
