GSA Launches Internal Demo Program for Tech Projects

The General Services Administration (GSA) is launching an internal demonstration program to showcase its use of software and technology, including projects using the agency’s new artificial intelligence chatbot. The program aims to promote cross-pollination of ideas and demonstrate how the agency is leveraging technology to make government more effective and efficient.

Acting Administrator Stephen Ehikian announced the program in an email to staff, encouraging them to sign up for a five-minute virtual demonstration of their projects at any stage of development. Staff are not required to prepare formal presentations, but rather to show Ehikian and fellow employees their coding work, design files, and infrastructure overviews.

The demos will focus on showcasing the GSA’s technology initiatives, including its new AI chatbot and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) bots. The agency is looking for “wide range of tech demos” and aims to find positive achievements to champion within the organization.

This initiative comes after the GSA announced significant cuts to its Technology Transformation Services (TTS) last week, resulting in a 50% reduction in staff. The program does not involve current TTS employees, and Ehikian emphasized that it is not related to the RIFs currently affecting some employees.
