Netflix has released a new original series titled “Adolescence”, which has garnered a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes from critics. The show, a British crime drama, revolves around the story of Jamie Miller, a 13-year-old boy who is arrested for murdering his schoolmate.
The series is created by Jack Thorne, known for his work in “Toxic Town”, another highly-rated Netflix drama. The project also features Stephen Graham, who has appeared in numerous films and TV shows, including “Boardwalk Empire” and “Venom”. British director Philip Barantini helms the show, which boasts a unique storytelling approach: each of its four episodes will be presented as one long continuous shot.
Fans of “Boiling Point”, another recent Netflix release featuring Graham, may notice some similarities with “Adolescence”. However, critics’ reviews suggest that this series stands out from comparable shows. Notably, the show’s score is on par with Thorne’s previous work, which has garnered similar acclaim.
“Adolescence” premieres on March 13, offering a gripping narrative despite its short episode count of four. Given the 100% Rotten Tomatoes score and the involvement of notable creators, this series is definitely worth checking out. The show will be available exclusively on Netflix and promises to be a compelling watch for fans of British crime dramas.
