WWE’s Nuanced Approach Praises from TNA’s Nic Nemeth

WWE Raw’s New Day segment ended on a sour note as Big E’s attempts to mend fences between Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods backfired, with the two turning their animosity towards him. However, TNA’s Nic Nemeth praised WWE for taking a nuanced approach in the segment.

According to Nemeth, if this had happened 10 years ago, it would have been a generic beatdown involving Woods and Kingston attacking Big E. Instead, WWE opted to make Woods and Kingston’s points more believable by having them lash out at Big E’s post-wrestling career.

Nemeth highlighted the importance of making the villain’s motivations relatable. He noted that a character’s personal life is often the key to their believability as a bad guy. “Desk job’s supposed to be the death blow to anyone in a physical business,” Nemeth said on “Busted Open Radio”.

He emphasized how Woods and Kingston’s points, particularly about Big E’s post-wrestling career and his personal life with his girlfriend, made their character more realistic and believable as villains.
