New Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan Reaps $66 Million Compensation Package

Intel Corporation’s new CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, will receive a total compensation package worth about $1 million in salary, along with approximately $66 million in long-term equity awards and options. The majority of his compensation is tied to the company’s performance and shares, reflecting his experience as a seasoned technology leader.

Tan’s compensation includes an annual bonus worth $2 million, a performance grant valued at $17 million, and stock units in a long-term equity grant worth $14.4 million. Both grants will vest over a period of five years, with conditions tied to Intel’s share price.

The package also includes stock options worth $9.6 million and a new hire option grant worth $25 million. If Intel goes through a change of control, Tan may be eligible for accelerated vesting.

Intel’s statement on Tan’s compensation notes that his deal reflects market competitiveness, with the majority being equity-based and tied to long-term shareholder value creation.
