Sony has announced a two-volume hardcover book collection, the God of War: 20th Anniversary Retrospective Set, to commemorate the series’ 20-year milestone. The set will feature artwork and behind-the-scenes materials from each game’s development team, with commentary from key members. Preorders are set to launch on March 17 for Volume One: Greek Saga, which covers the original trilogy, and Volume Two: Norse Saga, detailing the development of God of War 2016 and Ragnarok.
The book collection will be released in an ornate collector’s box and will include exclusive interviews with developers. Pricing information has not been revealed yet, but preorders are expected to be available at all major book retailers. Fans can also look forward to other merchandise, including art prints, vinyl collections, collectibles, and a 20th Anniversary Fan Kit, which includes desktop backgrounds and PSN avatars.
The God of War 20th Anniversary celebration will include several events, such as free cosmetic DLC packs for Ragnarok based on the original games, discounts on PlayStation Store and Steam, and an official art exhibit at Gallery Nucleus in Los Angeles.
