Silent Hill f, the eighth mainline game in the series, has finally been revealed after three years of anticipation. Developed by NeoBards Entertainment, the game is set in 1960s Japan and follows a young girl named Hinako Shimizu as she navigates a town plagued by fog and horrific creatures.
According to writer Ryukishi07 (When They Cry) and artist Kera (Spirit Hunter NG), the game’s story will explore “finding the beauty in terror” as Hinako faces an ultimate decision that will determine her fate. The theme of juxtaposing beautiful and terrifying elements is expected to be a recurring motif throughout the game.
The new trailer, announced during the latest Transmission, showcases traditional Japanese culture contrasting with unsettling monsters that chase Hinako through the town. Music maestro Akira Yamaoka has also joined the project, ensuring a haunting soundtrack and audio design.
Silent Hill f will be available on PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S, although a release date has not been confirmed. The game can be added to the wishlist on Steam for those eager to stay updated on its progress.
