Cooper Kupp is returning home to play for the Seattle Seahawks, a move that marks a new chapter in his illustrious NFL career. The 31-year-old receiver, native of Yakima, Washington, agreed to terms on a deal that will bring him back to the state where he got his start.
Kupp’s eight-year stint with the Los Angeles Rams saw him accumulate impressive numbers: 634 receptions for 7,776 yards and 57 touchdowns. His 2021 season stood out, as he led the league in receptions (143) receiving yards (1,947) and touchdowns (16). He also earned Super Bowl MVP honors that year.
Despite being limited to 12 games last season due to an ankle injury, Kupp was still productive, recording 67 receptions for 710 yards and six touchdowns. The Seahawks’ new receiver group, which includes Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, will benefit from his experience.
Kupp’s collegiate career at Eastern Washington set records that still stand today: 428 receptions, 6,464 yards, and 73 touchdowns over four seasons. The Seahawks have secured a talented addition with Kupp’s return to Seattle.
