Apple TV+ has announced that its hit comedy series “Ted Lasso” will be returning for a fourth season, marking the show’s return to the pitch after three successful years.
Jason Sudeikis, who created and stars in the show as Ted Lasso, will reprise his role and serve as an executive producer. The new season is expected to see Ted coaching a women’s team, which was hinted at during an interview with Travis and Jason Kelce’s podcast, “New Heights.”
Brett Goldstein, who plays Roy Kent, will return as writer and executive producer for the new season. Apple TV+ has also confirmed that Hannah Waddingham, who portrays AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton, and Jeremy Swift, who plays Leslie Higgins, have signed deals to reprise their roles if the show returns.
Most of the original creative team, including writers and producers, will be back for the fourth season. The news arrives at a time when the world is facing challenges again, but “Ted Lasso” has long been celebrated as a source of emotional sustenance during difficult times.
The show’s creator, Jason Sudeikis, stated in a statement that the new season will explore the idea of taking risks and finding one’s true path. The fourth season is expected to premiere at a later date.
