A major coffee creamer brand has issued a voluntary recall of over 75,000 bottles due to complaints of spoilage and illness. Danone’s International Delight brand is recalling two specific flavors: Hazelnut and Cinnabon Classic Cinnamon Roll.
The FDA has upgraded the recall to its second-highest risk level, Class II, which means using or being exposed to the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences. The recalled bottles have an expiration date of July 2-3, 2025, and a specific plant code of 51-4114 R-S.
The issue was caused by premature spoilage resulting in a texture problem. Danone has assured that there is no food safety issue but chose to recall the products out of caution while addressing the quality concern. The affected states include 31 others, such as Alabama, Florida, Illinois, and Texas.
This recall follows another recent recall of a popular lemonade brand, which was updated to reflect a potential health risk due to an undeclared synthetic food dye.
