SpaceX successfully launched a tripleheader of spaceflights, breaking records in the process. The company’s Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Florida’s Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on March 15 at 7:35 a.m. EDT, carrying 23 Starlink internet satellites, including 13 with direct-to-cell capability.
This was SpaceX’s third launch in just 13 hours, following a Falcon 9 that launched the Crew-10 astronaut mission to the International Space Station on Friday, and another that carried 74 payloads to orbit from California’s Vandenberg Space Force Base. The Transporter 13 mission marked a significant milestone for SpaceX, as it was their 400th landing of a Falcon 9 first stage.
The Starlink launch was also notable, with the rocket completing its third touchdown in just two years. This marks an impressive achievement for the company, demonstrating their expertise in reusable rockets.
SpaceX has now launched 31 Falcon 9 missions in 2025 alone, with nearly two-thirds of them dedicated to expanding the Starlink network in low Earth orbit. The company has lofted over 8,100 Starlink spacecraft to date, with approximately 7,061 operational satellites currently in orbit.
As part of their efforts to build out the Starlink constellation, SpaceX has made significant progress in recent weeks. With these record-breaking launches, they continue to push the boundaries of space exploration and satellite technology.
