NASA’s SpaceX Crew-10 Reaches Orbit Ahead of ISS Handover

NASA astronauts have successfully reached orbit aboard their SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, marking a major milestone in the mission. The crew, consisting of Anne McClain, Nichole Ayers, Takuya Onishi, and Kirill Peskov, will spend the next 28.5 hours rendezvousing with the International Space Station to dock and join the existing Crew-9 team.

Upon arrival, the new crew members will receive orientation from NASA astronauts Nick Hague, Suni Williams, and Butch Wilmore, who will familiarize them with ongoing scientific research and station maintenance activities. Following a brief handover, the new crew will take control of the space station’s operations while awaiting weather conditions to allow for their departure.

A post-launch news conference is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. EDT at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, featuring key officials from NASA and SpaceX. The conference will provide an opportunity for updates on the mission’s progress and any significant events that may occur during the handover period.
