Apple TV+’s “Dope Thief” is a gripping crime drama that boasts impressive production values, courtesy of the platform’s deep pockets. The eight-episode limited series follows DEA agents-turned-thieves Ray (Brian Tyree Henry) and Manny (Wagner Moura), who plan and execute daring heists to stick up minor dealers for cash.
However, their confidence soon turns into a nightmare when they inadvertently bite off more than they can chew. As the stakes rise, Ray’s stress levels skyrocket, putting his partnership with Manny in jeopardy and even his stepmother Theresa (Kate Mulgrew) at risk.
Henry shines as the lead, bringing confidence and charisma to his character, while Moura and Mulgrew provide strong supporting performances. The series maintains a high-octane pace, with shootouts, chases, and action-packed sequences that keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
