Australian GP 2025 Starting Grid and Norris Takes Pole

The rain threatens to disrupt the first Grand Prix of 2025, but McLaren’s Lando Norris secured pole position ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen started third, a full 15 places behind his new partner Liam Lawson.

George Russell took fourth for Mercedes, while Yuki Tsunoda and Alex Albon surprised with fifth and sixth place respectively for Racing Bulls and Williams. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc starts eighth, and Lewis Hamilton ninth, as Alpine’s Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz complete the top 10 on the grid.

Rookies Kimi Antonelli and Oliver Bearman struggled in qualifying, finishing 16th and starting from the pit lane due to technical issues. Meanwhile, Isack Hadjar impressed with an 11th place finish for Racing Bulls.

The Australian Grand Prix starts at 1500 local time, with live coverage available from 1400. The weather forecast suggests a wet race, which could lead to unexpected outcomes.
