Cooper Kupp Signs 3-Year Deal with Seahawks

Former Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is staying in the NFC West after agreeing to a three-year, $45 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks. The signing brings a veteran presence to the team’s wide receiver room, which has undergone significant changes this offseason.

Kupp spent eight seasons with the Rams, earning All-Pro honors and winning Super Bowl LVI MVP. However, injuries and time took their toll, leading the Rams to trade him. The Seahawks swooped in after Kupp was released on March 12, introducing a new face to a team that lost two longtime contributors.

Kupp’s addition joins a wide receiver room that also features breakout star Jaxon Smith-Njigba and newcomers Jake Bobo and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The team is now set with its receiving corps, which will be led by new quarterback Sam Darnold. Kupp will face his old Rams teammates twice a year as the Seahawks and Rams battle for divisional supremacy.

As Kupp heads back to his hometown of Washington, he’ll have a unique dynamic playing in front of fans who cheered him on during his youth. Despite being away from Los Angeles for eight years, Kupp’s return to the NFC West is a welcome addition to the Seahawks’ roster.
