George Simion, leader of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), has been cleared to participate in Romania’s presidential election in May. After initially withdrawing from the race in support of ultranationalist Călin Georgescu, Simion re-entered the contest when Georgescu was ruled ineligible due to a court decision.
