Long Covid Rocks Initiative Raising Awareness for Children’s Suffering

Today marks International Long Covid Day, highlighting the serious long-term effects of Long Covid on children. The ME Society is launching a global initiative called Long Covid Rocks to shed light on the challenges faced by children with this condition and encourage public action.

According to the ME Society, many children continue to suffer from debilitating post-Covid illnesses, preventing them from attending school or participating in daily life. To raise awareness, they invite the public to paint rocks with messages such as “Long Covid matters” , “Children with Long Covid” , or “Show support” .

The initiative encourages participants to place the rocks in visible public spaces like parks, schools, or walking paths to spark conversation and share photos on social media using hashtags #LCKRocks, #MyLongCovidRock, #LCSteinninnMinn, and #EftirstodvarCovid.

The ME Society emphasizes that everyone can take part in the initiative to help bring visibility to this pressing issue. Long Covid is a significant health crisis that has deeply affected many children and their families, with limited public understanding and scarce resources.

Through Long Covid Rocks, the organization hopes to foster greater awareness, encourage dialogue, and drive meaningful change, ultimately benefiting those suffering from this condition.
