Apple has not officially confirmed whether its delayed personalized Siri features are fully functional, but according to reports, they exist internally and can be demonstrated semi-usefully. During a recent meeting with the Siri team, senior director Robby Walker showcased some of these features in action. These include locating specific documents, finding photos, and manipulating apps using voice control.
However, the development process is ongoing, and Apple is still working to ensure that the features work smoothly before making them available to customers. The company has reported that the features are “only working up to 80% of the time.” Walker mentioned this during the meeting, indicating that the technology needs more refinement.
Apple anticipates rolling out the personalized Siri features in the coming year, but a specific release date is yet to be confirmed. The upgrades will include improved context understanding, on-screen awareness, and deeper per-app controls, such as understanding user information from various apps.
When launched, these features are expected to significantly enhance Siri’s capabilities. Apple has added fine print to its iPhone 16 product pages stating that the features are “in development” for a future software update.
The timeline for the release of these upgrades remains uncertain, with reports suggesting a potential launch in 2026, likely coinciding with iOS 19.4 or later updates.
