Mercedes Returns with Affordable Luxury Electric CLA

Mercedes-Benz has launched its new entry-level luxury car, the CLA, to rival Tesla in the market for desirable and attainable electric vehicles. The new model comes in both gas and electric versions, offering a range of features and technologies that were previously exclusive to more expensive Mercedes models.

The CLA’s base price starts at $29,900, making it an attractive option for buyers who want a luxurious car without breaking the bank. However, with cars becoming increasingly expensive over the past 12 years, it’s surprising that Mercedes is still offering such an affordable ride.

The electric version of the CLA, dubbed CLA with EQ Technology, boasts impressive specs, including a maximum range of up to 492 miles and 800-volt electric architecture. It also features a rear-mounted two-speed transmission, which provides a unique driving experience in both city and highway settings.

Unlike Tesla’s Model 3, the new CLA has a longer list of available features, including a 12.2-inch heads-up display and a 16-speaker Burmester sound system. The interior is inspired by zen gardens, with a panoramic sunroof and advanced AI assistant as standard. The car also comes equipped with an infotainment operating system capable of over-the-air updates.

Mercedes plans to launch the electric CLA first this fall, followed by the hybrid version later in the year. With pricing starting at $29,900, the new CLA is poised to take on Tesla’s Model 3 and other electric vehicles in the market.
