Nvidia’s shares declined 1.8% on Monday as investors awaited the company’s annual GTC conference on March 18. CEO Jensen Huang is expected to unveil the new Blackwell Ultra and Vera Rubin AI chips, which will be discussed during a post-earnings call on February 26.
The decline follows an 8% climb last week and comes after Nvidia led “Magnificent 7” stocks lower amid a tech-driven market downturn. Several other chipmakers, including Amazon, Meta, Google, and Tesla, also fell on Monday.
Huang had teased that he would provide more information about Blackwell Ultra and Vera Rubin at GTC. In a post-earnings call, he confirmed that the company is scaling production of its current-generation Blackwell AI servers in the fastest product ramp in its history, despite initial delays due to overheating issues.
The success of this transition will make it easier for Nvidia to produce Blackwell Ultra, which is expected to be launched in the second half of this year. The company’s simulation technologies and humanoid robots will also be discussed at GTC.
