Israel’s Gaza Attack Kills Over 200 Palestinians

Israel launched a massive air attack on Gaza early Wednesday morning, killing at least 232 Palestinians. The airstrikes shattered the ceasefire with Hamas, which has been in place since January 19. The attacks targeted heavily built-up neighborhoods, makeshift schools, and residential buildings where people were taking shelter.

The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that at least 200 Palestinians have been killed, including many children, women, and elderly individuals. More than 200 others have been injured, with numbers expected to rise. Israeli drones and fighter jets were seen in the skies above Gaza during the attack.

Hamas described the attack as “treacherous” and accused Israel of deliberately sabotaging the ceasefire. Palestinian Islamic Jihad also condemned the attack, claiming it was aimed at overturning the deal.

The United Nations Security Council will convene to discuss the situation on Thursday. Israeli Ambassador Danny Dannon defended the airstrikes in a statement, saying that Israel would continue fighting until all hostages were released.

The US has been conducting its own military operations against Yemen, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio stating that these strikes are aimed at stopping Houthi attacks on the Red Sea. However, reports from the UN confirm that at least two children were killed in the US airstrikes.

As the situation continues to unfold, the international community is calling for restraint and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
