Reality TV star Sean Lowe, a fan-favorite from “The Bachelor” franchise, suffered two brutal attacks by his own dog, Moose, a 7-year-old Boxer, in the past week. The dog, which has been part of the family for three months, attacked Lowe while he was hosting a barbecue and while he was sitting at home.
According to Lowe, the first attack occurred when a smoke alarm went off due to a grill fire inside his house. He grabbed a towel to clear the air, but the dog bit down on his finger, leading to more aggressive behavior from Moose. The dog attacked again when it escaped from the backyard and returned to the house.
The attacks left Lowe with deep wounds that required multiple stitches, including one in his arm and another in his opposite arm. His friends intervened, rushing him to the hospital, where he received treatment. After consulting with local animal control and the adoption agency, the family decided to rehome Moose due to concerns about their safety.
Lowe expressed gratitude for being spared from more serious harm but acknowledged that Moose was not at fault. He attributed the dog’s behavior to pre-existing trauma and a potential neurological issue, saying he doesn’t blame the rescue group either, which was unaware of the dog’s past. The family is now trying to come to terms with rehoming their beloved pet.
Lowe previously starred in season 17 of “The Bachelor” and has been married to Catherine since 2014.
