Google is expected to release the Pixel 9a later this week, but a recent YouTube unboxing has raised concerns about the device’s modem performance. The leak, obtained by YouTuber Sahil Karoul in Dubai, shows that the Pixel 9a will come equipped with an Exynos 5300 modem instead of the newer Exynos 5400 model used in other Pixel 9 series devices.
The leak confirms the use of a Tensor G4 processor with 8GB of RAM and reveals benchmark scores on AnTuTu, GeekBench, and others. The device also shows decent performance in PUBG Mobile and provides camera samples. However, it appears that the modem’s performance will be more in line with the Pixel 8 series.
Google is reportedly set to unveil the Pixel 9a later this week, with a March 19 release date mentioned earlier. The leak also hints at some exciting features, including a free Google TV Streamer in certain markets and new camera samples.
