Colin Farrell Circling Sgt. Rock Role in Luca Guadagnino’s Film

DC Studios has found its Sgt. Rock in Colin Farrell, who may be joining forces with director Luca Guadagnino for a film adaptation. The project is part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe, while the Penguin was announced as part of Matt Reeves’ Epic Crime Saga.

Gunn and Safran explained that they were drawn to Guadagnino and Challengers writer Justin Kuritzkes’ unique take on Sgt. Rock, which focuses on heroism in a time of armed conflict. However, original rumors suggested Daniel Craig would play the role, but Gunn and Safran clarified that he was never officially in talks.

Farrell’s casting is seen as a significant move to separate the DC Universe and Matt Reeves’ crime saga, ending speculation about a potential crossover between the two. The news comes after Farrell played another DC character in The Penguin, which is expected to be released soon.

With his busy schedule, it remains to be seen whether Farrell will be able to commit to this new role.
