The United States has launched a series of precision strikes against Iran-backed Houthi targets in Yemen, aiming to restore freedom of navigation and deterrence in the region. The attacks, ordered by President Donald J. Trump, targeted key terrorist Houthi sites, including training facilities, drone infrastructure, and command centers.
According to Pentagon officials, the Houthis have been attacking US military ships and aircraft, as well as commercial vessels from other nations. They claim to have fired on a US warship, but it is unclear if the claims are accurate.
The US Central Command has initiated “overwhelming and lethal force” against the Houthi targets until they agree to stop attacking US personnel and ships. The operation will continue in the coming days until the president’s objectives are achieved.
“We have not seen any indication of civilian casualties from our attacks so far,” said a Pentagon spokesperson. “However, we are concerned about the level of incompetence demonstrated by the Houthis.”
The strikes have hit over 30 targets across multiple locations, degrading Houthi capabilities and disrupting their operations. The US is committed to defending its homeland and protecting maritime shipping in the region.
The operation marks a significant escalation in the conflict between the US and Iran-backed Houthi groups in Yemen.
