Conan O’Brien Returns as Oscar Host in 2026

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Conan O’Brien will reprise his hosting duties at the 98th Oscar ceremony next year. This marks one of the earliest renewals for an Oscar host, following his successful debut last year. O’Brien’s first experience was well-received by audiences and critics alike, delivering a five-year ratings high for ABC. The comedian expressed his reason for returning to the show, stating he wants to hear Adrien Brody finish his speech after winning the best actor award.

O’Brien will be joined by producers Jeff Ross and Mike Sweeney for a second year, while executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan will return for their third consecutive stint. The ceremony is scheduled for March 15, 2026. Despite the challenging nature of hosting the Oscars, O’Brien’s previous success has paved the way for his return.
