Microsoft’s Copilot app for Windows has been “unintentionally uninstalled” on some Windows 11 devices due to the latest monthly Windows update. The issue, reportedly caused by a bug in the Patch Tuesday updates starting March 11th, has left users unable to access the app from their taskbar.
However, Microsoft assures affected users that they can easily reinstall the Copilot app from the Microsoft Store and manually pin it back to the taskbar until a fix is available. The company is working on resolving the issue and has also announced plans for additional updates to the Copilot app.
In related news, Microsoft’s AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman will be unveiling new Copilot features at a 50th anniversary event on April 4th. This comes amid rumors of Microsoft developing its own in-house AI reasoning models to compete with OpenAI. The new Copilot app boasts an improved user interface and a press-to-talk hotkey, allowing users to interact with the AI assistant like they did with Cortana in Windows 10.
