Understanding truTV’s Role in March Madness Coverage

truTV is one of several cable television channels owned by Warner Bros. Discovery, carrying some of TNT Sports’ coverage of sporting events. The network is known for its NCAA Tournament coverage as part of CBS and Turner Sports’ March Madness broadcasts.

As the 2025 NCAA Tournament approaches, truTV will resume its role in broadcasting college basketball games. This includes the First Four doubleheader on March 18, featuring Alabama State vs. Saint Francis and North Carolina vs. San Diego State. The network’s coverage will also include the Elite Eight, Sweet 16, and first- and second-round games.

truTV will carry a total of 21 games over the next three weeks, an increase in coverage from previous tournaments. This includes games such as Purdue vs. High Point, Missouri vs. Drake, and Alabama vs. Robert Morris.

+ Wednesday, March 19: No. 16 Mount St. Mary’s vs. No. 16 American (6:40 p.m.) and No. 11 Xavier vs. No. 11 Texas (9:10 p.m.)
* First Round:
+ Thursday, March 20: No. 4 Purdue vs. No. 13 High Point (12:40 p.m.), No. 5 Clemson vs. No. 12 McNeese (3:15 p.m.), and No. 6 Missouri vs. No. 11 Drake (7:35 p.m.)
+ Friday, March 21: No. 2 Alabama vs. No. 15 Robert Morris (12:40 p.m.), No. 7 Saint Mary’s vs. No. 10 Vanderbilt (3:15 p.m.), and No. 4 Arizona vs. No. 13 Akron (7:35 p.m.)
