A 16-year-old boy died after receiving Elevidys, a gene therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, due to liver failure and a recent cytomegalovirus infection. This marks the first reported death linked to the treatment. The company behind the therapy notes that over 800 patients have been treated so far.
