Kanye West targeted at least a dozen celebrities this week, including Jay-Z, Beyoncé, and their children, with his increasingly wild social media antics. However, unlike in the past, these posts seem to be drawing less attention than usual.
West made several bizarre posts targeting Jay-Z and Beyoncé, as well as their younger children, before deleting them. He later regretted taking them down, saying he needed people to know that neither Jay-Z nor anyone else had power over him.
West also targeted rapper Playboi Carti, accusing him of domestic violence and criticizing his daughter’s involvement in the rapper’s new album. In another post, West asked for Playboi Carti’s son to feature on one of his songs.
Despite frequent rants from West, few celebrities have responded, and posts about his album appear to gain little attention online and in the media.
Playboi Carti posted “YE STFU” in response to West’s comments, which was liked over 313,000 times. Iggy Azalea also responded, stating that she understands West’s point but asking him to leave her child out of it.
West has targeted other celebrities, including Kendrick Lamar and Drake, making homophobic slurs against Drake in now-deleted posts. He has also targeted his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, alleging without evidence that she is exploiting their children.
West recently released his new album, “Bully,” as a short film, which can be accessed through a password-protected file on his website. It’s unclear whether West plans to release the album on streaming platforms, citing concerns about piracy.
This comes amid renewed controversy surrounding West and former billionaire, who fell from grace in 2022 after making antisemitic comments that led to business collaborators cutting ties with him.
