Kathleen Hogan Transitions to Strategy Role at Microsoft

Microsoft has appointed Kathleen Hogan, its long-time Chief People Officer, as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Transformation. Reporting directly to CEO Satya Nadella, Hogan will focus on defining the company’s corporate strategy, leading its continuous transformation, and overseeing the HR department.

As part of the change, Amy Coleman, who led Microsoft’s corporate HR functions for six years, will take over as Chief People Officer, joining the senior leadership team under Nadella. The move aims to expand the CEO’s office, allowing Nadella more time to focus on technical strategy, competitiveness, and product development.

The shift in HR leadership coincides with Microsoft’s plans to overhaul its performance-review process, according to a recent report. This move comes amid the company’s ongoing efforts to adapt to rapid industry changes driven by AI advancements.
