Rapper Too Short is making a comeback in the movie industry with his manager David Weintraub. Their latest film, “Freaky Tales”, features an all-star cast including Pedro Pascal, Tom Hanks, Jay Ellis, and Too Short himself. The drama explores 1980s Oakland’s music and sports scenes, with Too Short playing a crooked cop.
The film is based on true stories from the Bay Area and has been years in the making. Directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck worked closely with Too Short and Weintraub to bring the project to life. The movie premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 2024 and is set to open in theaters on April 4.
