The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a recall for approximately 14 tons of Chomps ready-to-eat beef sticks due to possible contamination with metal foreign materials. The affected products, manufactured by Idaho Smokehouse Partners, were produced between January 13-15, 2025, and have an expiration date of February 10, 2026.
The recalled products include 1.15-ounce vacuum-sealed packages of “Chomps Original Beef Sticks Mild” with a lot code of 25016. These sticks were shipped to retailers in California and Illinois.
After receiving consumer complaints about metal fragments found in the product, the manufacturer informed the FSIS, which has not received any confirmed reports of injuries related to the recall. The organization advises those concerned to contact their healthcare provider if they have ingested something while consuming the product.
The FSIS is issuing this recall notice out of caution and encourages anyone who believes they purchased the affected product to check their pantries and discard or return them immediately. For more information, customers can contact Idaho Smokehouse Partners directly at 208-227-5282.
