Revolutionary Flexbar Accessory Offers Customization and Flexibility

A team of four engineers has revived the concept of Apple’s Touch Bar with their new creation, the Flexbar. This standalone touchscreen display can be used with multiple devices and platforms through a USB connection, offering a unique alternative to traditional keyboards.

The Flexbar is designed to provide dynamic access to user interface elements like shortcuts, playback controls, and tools, which change automatically as you switch between apps. Its creators claim that it offers more customizability than Apple’s Touch Bar, allowing users to create their own buttons, shortcuts, and custom interface elements through a streamlined drag-and-drop interface.

Backed by the startup company Eniac, the Flexbar is now available for pre-order on Kickstarter, with an early bird discount of $119 (down from $179). Delivery is expected as early as February 2025. However, potential backers should note that there’s still some risk involved, given that this is the company’s first product.

The Flexbar boasts a uniquely sized 10-inch 2K OLED screen and can be positioned in various ways to suit different users’ needs. It also supports multiple operating systems, including Windows and macOS, as well as mobile devices like tablets.
