NASA’s SpaceX Crew-9 Astronauts to Discuss Science Mission on March 31

NASA’s SpaceX Crew-9 astronauts will discuss their recent science mission during a postflight news conference at the Johnson Space Center in Houston on Monday, March 31. The crew, consisting of Nick Hague, Suni Williams, and Butch Wilmore, returned to Earth on March 18.

The three NASA crew members and Roscosmos cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov will answer questions about their time in space. Due to his travel schedule, Gorbunov will not participate in the news conference.

During their mission, the crew conducted over 900 hours of research, including plant growth studies, stem cell technology tests, and experiments on material degradation. They also performed a spacewalk and collected samples from the station’s exterior to study microorganisms in space.

The crew supported educational events with students worldwide, conducting a student-led genetic experiment that aims to inspire the next generation of explorers. NASA’s Commercial Crew Program has successfully delivered safe transportation to the International Space Station from the United States through its partnership with private industry.

Media are invited to attend the news conference in person or virtually. U.S. media requesting in-person attendance must contact the NASA Johnson newsroom by Friday, March 28, at 281-483-5111 or [email protected].
